Come build the sukkah! (Sun, Oct 16)

Join us as we build the community sukkah.

When: 3:00, Sun, Oct 16

As John Heywood wrote, "Many hands make light work."

Children can make decorations, and everyone can contribute to the mitzvah of building and dwelling in the sukkah.

We hear rumors of pizza and ice cream.

Summer Camps: Register A.S.A.P.!

From the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama:

Why is now the time to register for summer camps 2017? Because early bird discounts will end soon!

You want to apply for all the scholarship your camp has available before the deadline. Some are income dependent and some are for first year campers. Apply to ALL possible funding sources.

Your camp can assist you in locating scholarship. Many scholarships are only available until the funds have been distributed. Get your Forms now.

Camp beds are filling fast this year. One of our camps had more beds filled by September 5th for 2017 than attended that camp three years ago. Thus your preferred session may have waiting list.

The Jewish Federation of Central Alabama makes overnight summer camp experience available to local Jewish families and youth. Each child of a member(s) of JFCA shall be eligible for these grants to offset the registrations fees required to attend overnight Jewish youth camps of all grades. Priority will be given to first time campers.

This year the Goldring Family Foundation has an incentive grant of up to $1,500 for first time campers living in central Alabama currently in grade 1-9. Yes, you may be eligible for both.

Contact the Federation for more information as soon as you register for camp. You can also ask for someone to contact via the synagogue.
