Religious School

Parent Orientatio

Our parent orientation meeting will be August 14th at 10 a.m. at Beth Shalom. We
welcome your involvement and suggestions and look forward to seeing all of you!

Curriculum

Beth Shalom's religious school is based on curriculum from the ISJL (the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life).

Classes

Classes range from pre-K (new!) through Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Final preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah is often coordinated with help from one or more of the ISJL rabbis.

Classes generally run on the same schedule as Auburn University, starting in late August or early September and running through early May.

The Pre-K class will run from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with songs, story time, activities and crafts for our youngest students.

The grade school program will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. We will begin our day with a
school gathering to learn songs and prayers and hear announcements. Once the kids are ready
for the day we will break into groups for either Hebrew or Judaic class. After a midday snack we
will be switching classes.

Tuition (subject to change)

Tuition is due by the first class.
  • Beth Shalom member families: $170 for the first child in a family and $140 for each additional child.
  • Non-member families: $350 for the first child in a family and $300 for each additional child.

Registration

Please confirm your child’s registration by July 15th so we can prepare for teaching staff and training.

If you have not already submitted your registration form, please bring it to the orientation.
